Start with what you notice

Worth a closer look.

You don’t need to identify it yourself. Describe what you see and smell.

01

A musty odor

Note whether it comes from the vents and whether it is stronger when the system runs.

02

Visible growth

Mention spots on registers, vent covers or inside accessible ducts. A photo helps.

03

Moisture near the system

Share any condensation, a dripping drain line or standing water around the unit.

04

Past water damage

Flag roof leaks, plumbing leaks or flooding that may have reached the ductwork.

Your next step

Know what you’re booking.

01 · Share

Tell us what you’ve found.

Describe the smell or growth, where you see it, and any recent leaks or water damage.

02 · Inspect

Confirm what’s there.

Ask how the ducts will be inspected and which areas and components are included.

03 · Decide

Address the cause too.

Discuss the remediation scope, the moisture source behind it, and the price before booking.

Before you call

A little clarity.

Not every dark spot is mold, and not every musty smell means growth in the ducts. An inspection comes first, before anyone recommends remediation.

Not if the moisture behind it continues. A clogged condensate line, a leak or condensation can bring growth back, so ask Keenan about the source as well as the cleanup.

Photos of the vents or growth, when you first noticed it, and any history of leaks or water damage near the system.
