Queen Creek, still part farm town
Queen Creek started out as a railroad shipping point for farm produce, and the Town of Queen Creek didn’t incorporate until 1989. It has grown quickly since. The census counted 26,361 residents in 2010 and 59,519 in 2020.
Most homes here are on the newer side. Neighborhoods like Hastings Farms, and Ironwood Crossing (annexed in 2018, since the town sits mostly in Maricopa County and partly in Pinal County), are full of relatively recent construction and larger floor plans. Newer doesn’t mean trouble-free, though. A home that’s 10 or 15 years old may be heading toward its first big AC repair, and even a young system does better with regular maintenance.
Dust matters out here. Between open land, ongoing construction and monsoon season (June 15 through September 30, as defined by the National Weather Service), filters load up fast and outdoor coils collect grime. That cuts into airflow and makes the system work harder for the same comfort, which is why filter changes and coil cleaning deserve a spot on your calendar.
